I was so surprised of the quality of these speakers. For the price they sell for I thought I might be buying junk. I took a chance and now I plan on getting the rest for my home theater. The sound is really clear and they look great. A well kept secret. how come nobody knows about these?

I had been using a home-theater-in-a-box setup for a few years and thought it was good. I finally got the itch to upgrade the main towers and center channel speaker and did some research. The lower price of the Fluance speakers caused me to hesitate--how good can they be for that price?--but the reviews won me over; on here and on independant sites. Would have paid for the better quality models here but I wanted a black finish, so went with these 'basic' speakers. All I can say is WOW. These utterly destroy the speakers I was using before. The towers sound good for stereo listening but I prefer to use the surround setting on my receiver which activates the Outlaw Audio powered subwoofer I already owned, and the Fluance larger center channel speaker (as opposed to the smaller one in the 5.0 package). In surround mode the Fluance speakers sound amazing, with the music being both powerful and clean. The base coming off the towers blends with the subwoofer and is strong and smooth. True ear candy. Now I run Pandora through my home theater system almost the entire time I'm home as it sounds so damn good. As great as music is, surround audio in movies is unbelievable! Sounds as good as or better than being at a new THX movie theater. A HUGE upgrade from the speakers I had before--wish I had upgraded a long time ago. Speakers costing $1,000 or more might sound a little better, but I can't imagine the tiny increase in quality would be worth the big price difference. Thanks Fluance!

I just received these speakers , and was impressed from the start. The build quality is excellent at this price point, as is the packing quality. Right out of the box I was impressed by the openess of these speakers, and the well defined imaging.I replaced a set of Athena ASF2's due to size reasons , and was concerned about that size difference , but not for long as these speakers readily dismissed any concerns regarding their capabilities. As they break in , they continue to smooth out, and the bass is much more defined. These speakers blow away any big box retail store offerings out there and represent an excellent value in todays loudspeaker market.

I'm sure you could marginally improve the sound by spending five to ten times the cost of these beautifully built tower speakers, but I don't see why any rational buyer would spend the huge extra cost for such a tiny return.
I bought these as the foundation for a 6.1 home theater system, adding a center channel speaker, three rear surrounds, and a 10' amplified subwoofer, also by Fluance. Driven by a Yamaha AV receiver, the system fills our modest 1400 square foot home with pure and powerful sound that we can enjoy for hours at a time without suffering from listening fatigue. For our home, the subwoofer may not even have been needed except to shake things up (literally) in movies like Jurassic Park.
For the whole 6.1 system (not including receiver), we paid right around a grand. I'm not going to call it a steal, but it was the best deal I've found in a good many years. Oh, and the people at Fluance were great (you can find a contact telephone number at the Fluance.com web site). They referred me to this site when I found they weren't set up to handle my particular credit card. The cost ordering through Amazon was just about the same as it would have been had I ordered directly from the Fluance web site.

I always seem to have speakers coming and going. I'm always picking up these or those and trying them out. I did the same with these Fluance speakers and have found them to be pretty decent. Mine came well packed and seem very solidly built. After being used for several days throughout the volume spectrum, I'm reasonably impressed. Throw in the CHEAP price and you've got a deal that's tough to go wrong with. At moderate to high volumes, they sound pretty good. Clear, lots of imaging, decent depth, well balanced. Bass needs to be augmented with a sub for the full sonic effect, but that's not to say the bass is absent, it's just not room shaking. At lower levels, they seem to be a little more resistant, but overall, I'm very happy. I'll keep these for quite a while.

This is my second purchase here. The first time I bought a set of Fluance towers I thought, How good can they be for that money. I was blown away!!! They were just perfect teamed up with my M&K subwoofer. Very clean sound at an amazing price. I recomend this site to anyone I can.. I love them.

Got the AVHTB+ in the four workdays as promised. First thing I notice is how well packed and how well made they are. Yeah well I've had two good looking, well built wives and neither lasted...
OK folks, I banana plugged these things into a Denon AVR790 paired with a Polk PSW10. I wanted to break em in right so I left them playing at a low level level while I was at work. When I got home I was blown away. I can't do justice trying to describe what I got for $260.00 (w/shipping) in this review. Movies and music are flawless. I could've and have spent more but won't ever again. Done with gimmicks and slick stuff. I'm a Fluance man now. People who buy speakers to hear sound will buy these. A lifetime warranty?? Go find that somewhere else. I hope Fluance stays around a long time.

Not having the means to purchase expensive equipment, I continually ran across the mention of Fluance products as an alternative to more well-known - and more expensive - speakers. I went with the AVFRs knowing that they'd continually received good reviews and would, at the least, still be a decent upgrade from the shelf system speakers I'd been using.
They are far more than a decent upgrade. They have reignited my passion for listening to music. Even in my small apartment, I can hear great stereo separation and details I'd been missing for years. Thank you Fluance for a great and affordable product.

These speakers provide a warm sound. Seems like they love power and are linear from top to bottom. I'm using these in a 4.2 system as my mains. They are powered by a Yamaha rec. with a crossover at 100hz on up. These can be run as a "Large" but I love the more intense dual sub action. I added a Morel 1 1/8 soft dome to the rear with a 3K crossover creating a high freq Bi-Polar setup with netted a more 3D sound. Both tweeters are aligned correctly with matched sensitivity. I love these speakers a bunch and I am much pleased, they can take any DTS HD Master Audio or TrueHD I throw at them.
